NIOS DELED: Today the Supreme Court has given its verdict in the case related to NIOS D.El.Ed. NIOS D.El.Ed has been declared valid. The Supreme Court heard the NIOS D.El.Ed review petition case. The Supreme Court has given relief to NIOS D.El.Ed candidates. NIOS DELED is valid with some conditions. The Supreme Court has also given clarification.
It is known that all the candidates who were in service before August 10, 2017 can apply for any job and can also get promotion. This has been stated in the observation of the Supreme Court.
In 2023, two major judgments came from the Supreme Court, the highest court of the country, which changed the eligibility criteria for the post of primary teacher.
The first came on August 11, 2023 and said that B.Ed-qualified candidates will no longer be eligible to apply for the post of teacher in government primary schools. Only DELED (Basic Teacher Certificate) qualified candidates can apply for these posts.
The other came on November 28, 2023, where it was said that candidates with an 18-month Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are not eligible for the post of elementary teacher. It is against this order that a review petition was filed in the Supreme Court.
