Job News: Israel to hire 10,000 workers from India. Israel requests for 10,000 skilled construction workers.  For this, the second nationwide recruitment drive for Indian construction workers going to Israel will begin in Pune.

This recruitment is part of the deepening cooperation between India and Israel in procuring skilled labour.  Israel has requested 5,000 skilled workers from India.  Those who have certificates from recognized institutions and have completed courses with at least 990 hours of on-the-job training, will be recruited.  A team from Israel's Population, Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA), along with assessors, will arrive in India next week to conduct aptitude tests and select suitable candidates.

The recruitment is being conducted under a government-to-government agreement signed between India and Israel in November 2023.  The drive focuses on four specific job roles: framing, iron bending, plastering and ceramic tiling.

Israel is recruiting workers from India to fill the labor gap created after the suspension of work permits for most Palestinian workers.  Labor is available relatively cheaply from India.  Israel has financial savings as the cost of salaries is also lower.
