DELED Admission: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has again extended the deadline for deled admission in DELED courses. The application deadline has been extended till June 30. Although the admission process for the DELED course is going on through the central online system, the response so far is not promising, so the Board of Primary Education is extending the deadline for admission. Earlier the last date for notification application was 31st May. Later it was increased to 15 June. That deadline was extended by another 15 days.
It is known that the condition of private DELED colleges in terms of applications is quite alarming. Many colleges have six-to-eight applicants from the central portal. It is becoming impossible to run the institute with so few students. Private colleges will not be able to continue if such low enrollment rate is maintained. Currently, the government prescribed fee for DELED is RS 96 thousand. Colleges are forced to charge much less than that. As a result, they are struggling to pay teachers' salaries and other expenses.
Although the board president Gautam Pal had earlier said that there would be no problem with the admission through the central portal. Applications have already been submitted in 60 percent seats. Increasing the deadline will increase the number of applications.
Incidentally, candidates have to apply online for admission in the academic year 2024-25. Apply by uploading age proof, high school mark sheet, passport size photograph and other important documents and certificates by going to the specific portal of the website of the Board of Primary Education. For this, one thousand rupees must be deposited as application fee. Application started from 16th May. For more details on this please visit the official website.
