Teacher Recruitment: Good news for job aspirants. The education department of Bihar is preparing for the third phase of teacher recruitment drive. Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is expected to release an advertisement for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRE) Phase III in February 2024. Considering the past phases of recruitment, it is estimated that 70,000 vacancies will be notified in the upcoming phase. Vacant positions will be included in the previous two steps.
Considering the earlier two rounds of recruitment, the upcoming BPSC TRE 3.0 will recruit qualified teachers at various educational levels. It will include classes 1 to 5, classes 6 to 8, classes 9 to 10 and classes 11 and 12. The Bihar Education Department has confirmed that preparations for the exam are already underway.
BPSC TRE Phase 2 Exam was conducted between 7th December to 15th December. The result was declared by the department administration on 22nd December, 2023. The second phase examination was then aimed at filling up a total of 1.22 lakh vacancies in Primary Teacher (PRT), Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), and Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) posts.
Due to chronic challenges in the education system, the recruitment process in the state has been tightened. A major challenge is the student-teacher ratio, which is expected to be corrected by hiring more teachers.
As reported by The Times of India, the primary school recorded a student-teacher ratio of 1:35. On the other hand, the proportion improved significantly in secondary schools after the recruitment drive. It is currently at 1:36 as against 1:88 earlier after recruitment in second phase.
