BEd vs DElEd: The Supreme Court rejected the application of the BEd candidates who had applied for the recruitment of primary teachers.  The Supreme Court again rejected the application of BEd degree holders for consideration for the appointment of primary teachers.  As a result, job candidates with BED will face problems in the current teacher recruitment process of this state.

In this regard, Somesh Ghosh, the lawyer of the DELED trainees, said, "On behalf of the BE trainees of West Bengal, they appealed to the Supreme Court and said that before the judgment of last year, many of the TET-passed and BE degree holders in 2014 and 2016 had given interviews for the post of primary teachers.  If they clear the interview, they should be placed in the recruitment panel of 2022.  However, a bench of Justice Anirudh Bose and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia of the apex court dismissed the plea today.  The court did not want to make any changes in the verdict.

B.Ed Clarification case dismissed.  The job candidates who have done BED have not been spared.  The primary B.Ed vs D.El.Ed clarification case was dismissed by the Supreme Court.  As a result of primary B.Ed.  Job seekers had no chance.  The State Teacher Recruitment Panel 2022 is yet to be released.  There is a stay on the order of the Supreme Court.  There is a hearing on the release of that panel on Friday.

Incidentally, last year on August 11, the Supreme Court ruled that BA degree holders will not be eligible for primary teacher posts.  Only those with DLED or D.Ed training will get employment as primary teachers.  In 2018, the National Council of Teacher Education or NCTE issued guidelines saying that B.Ed graduates can get jobs as primary teachers as well as teaching in secondary and higher secondary level schools.  The Supreme Court overruled that directive.
