Assistant Professor: The application process for the recruitment of teachers under advertisement 2023 in Allahabad University (AU) has been completed. Officials of the Central University have confirmed that around 9,500 candidates have applied for the 342 vacant posts of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors.
This means an average of 28 candidates are vying for each vacant post. Officials say preparations are underway to start the application screening process, after which candidates shortlisted by the screening committee will be called for interview by the selection committee panel. Earlier 320 teachers were selected in the university in 2021 advertisement.
Online applications were accepted for the recruitment of teachers for 342 vacant posts in Allahabad University from December 12, 2023 to January 2, 2024.
This recruitment includes 147 posts of Assistant Professor in 42 subjects, 130 posts of Associate Professor in 39 subjects and 65 posts of Professor in 33 subjects. In all, 82 backlog posts of SC/ST and OBC category candidates are also included in this recruitment drive.
Under the Allahabad University faculty recruitment starting in 2021, around 320 posts have been filled in various departments and centers including 257 Assistant Professors, 52 Associate Professors and 11 Professors.
In the 2021 advertisement, there were 69 offers of Professors in 33 subjects, 128 posts of Associate Professors in 39 subjects and 161 posts of Assistant Professors in 42 subjects. This recruitment has started for vacant and newly created posts under the new advertisement.
