NIOS DELEd Case Big news, NIOS Primary Teacher Recruitment Supreme Court Judgement

NIOS DELED Case

NIOS DELED Case: NIOS DELEd Case Big news came out in teacher recruitment case.  A case related to NIOS DElEd was pending in Supreme Court, the highest court of the country.  It gives verdict today..

Today Tuesday, November 28, the Supreme Court gives judgement of the 18-month course of NIOS.  Although the case is from Uttarakhand, its impact is going to be felt across the country.

What is known about the Supreme Court's NIOS DELED judgment is-

  ● NIOS DELED candidates are ineligible for recruitment to teaching posts.

  ● For those who have got jobs, there is no problem.

  ● Only DELED candidates will get primary teaching jobs.

The Uttarakhand government had moved the Supreme Court against the High Court's decision to include DELED (Diploma in Elementary Education) candidates from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in the recruitment of 2648 posts of teachers.

For the recruitment of Assistant Teachers in Government Primary Schools in Uttarakhand, Education Department invited applications for 2648 posts in 2020-21.  D.El.Ed and B.Ed candidates from District Education and Training Institute as well as D.El.Ed from NIOS applied for it.  The government initially included D.El.Ed candidates from NIOS in teacher recruitment, but later they were excluded.

Then the DELED candidates of NIOS went to the High Court against this order of the government.  The High Court on February 10, 2022 canceled the government order and ordered to include teachers in the recruitment, but the government went to the Supreme Court against this order of the High Court.  The judgment of this case was given on Tuesday.
