WBSSC: The School Service Commission has extended the date of counseling for the appointment of teachers in the upper primary level following the court's direction. The commission has started the recruitment process of upper primary job seekers. Today, the dates for counseling in the recruitment process have been announced.
The court ordered that the School Service Commission can do counseling if it wants. In other words, the commission can start the selection process of who will go to which school in the merit list. However, the order to give their recommendation letter has not come yet.
School Service Commission has published the merit list of 13,339 people. Since 2014, the recruitment process for higher primary is going on. There are more than 14 thousand vacancies in this recruitment. Officials claim that SSC has already taken several steps regarding the higher primary recruitment process as directed by Calcutta High Court. No appointment at upper primary level for about 10 years.
Earlier, the merit list prepared for the recruitment was published but it was canceled due to corruption allegations. The panel has been published again after conducting a new interview. Successful candidates are getting impatient day by day. They are demanding immediate appointment. Yesterday, the court directed that the SSC will complete the counseling process, but the recommendation letter cannot be given. SSC started the action following the order of the court.
