WBSSC: Big news came out again in recruitment corruption case. Another 10,000 primary teachers have filed a petition in Calcutta High Court to cancel their jobs. Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay will also hear this case.
These teachers were recruited in the 2020 recruitment process. The Deputy Secretary of the Board of Primary Education himself admitted that they were not given a bridge course, claimed the plaintiffs. Allegedly, they have been working as 'temporary teachers' for so long without fulfilling the job conditions. But the Supreme Court recently ordered that they should not have that temporary job either. In this regard, a case was filed in the High Court on Tuesday seeking cancellation of the jobs of those 10,000 teachers.
333 primary job aspirants, including Mithali Roy, filed a case in Calcutta High Court on Tuesday seeking cancellation of jobs. They said that these teachers were appointed in the recruitment process of 2020. The bridge course was not conducted as per NCTE rules. In a case filed by the Deputy Secretary of the Board of Primary Education, Justice Gangopadhyay, he admitted, "Since 2015, no bridge course has been conducted for teachers in the state."
The petitioners told the court that these teachers also did not get permanent jobs as there was no bridge course. They are still receiving 'B' category salary from the state government as temporary teachers. But with the Supreme Court's recent order regarding primary teachers, those ten thousand teachers will no longer be able to stay in this temporary position. Therefore, the jobs of these 10,000 teachers should be cancelled. Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay will hear this case next Wednesday.
