WBSSC: Good news for job seekers. Calcutta Police recruitment notification published. Recently the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board published the notification for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector and Sergeant of Kolkata Police. Any Indian citizen can apply for this post.
Sub-Inspector and Sergeant Vacancy
Total vacancies for the post of Sub-Inspector/ (Unarmed Branch) and Sergeant- 169. The distribution of vacant posts for female and male category is given in the table below.
Educational Qualification
To apply for the post of Sub Inspector job aspirants must have completed graduation from any recognized university.
Physical Fitness
Physical fitness criteria are different for male, female and hilly applicants. The physical qualification criteria are given in the table below.
Age Limit
Applicants age should be between 20 years to 27 years as on 1 January 2023. As per government rules reserved category candidates will get age relaxation.

Application Fee
Applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will not need any application. 20/- as processing fee only. In case of candidates belonging to other castes, application fee of Tk.250/- + processing fee Tk.20/-, total Tk.270/- should be deposited. Application fee can be deposited through debit card, credit card, net banking and e-wallet.
Recruitment Process
Eligible candidates will be selected and appointed through a three-stage examination. Eligible candidates will be recruited through written test, physical fitness test and interview.
