WBSSC: ED faces reprimand from the court again. Investigation not based on presumptions, judge reprimands ED in Abhishek Banerjee's defense case. During the hearing of the case on Friday, Justice Tirthankar Ghosh said, investigation cannot proceed on the basis of speculation. He also questioned the success rate of the ED in completing the investigation and punishing the criminals.
Abhishek's protection period extended till August 17. Justice Tirthankar Ghosh questioned the success rate of the ED investigation in the court.
During the hearing of the case, the Additional Solicitor General on behalf of the ED said on Friday that Abhishek Banerjee's name had come up in the initial recruitment corruption investigation. The investigators want to question him. No one is accused today, but what is the guarantee that he will not be accused or guilty tomorrow? It is estimated that there has been corruption of about 300 crore rupees in primary recruitment.
After that Justice Ghosh stopped the counsel of ED and said, where is the evidence in favor of corruption of 300 crore rupees? Only property worth Rs 3 crore was recovered from Manik Bhattacharya. No investigation can proceed on assumptions.
