WBSSC: Former NYSA Vice President Niladri Das was arrested in recruitment corruption case. Niladri caught in OMR distortion is also interrogated. According to Subiresh Bhattacharya, OMR sheets were rigged by former NYSA Vice President Niladri Das. Such was the demand of the CBI.
A special CBI court in Alipore on Saturday also granted interim bail to former NISA chief Niladri Das, who was arrested in the recruitment corruption case. SSC has given the task of conducting the examination to this institute named NISA. He has been bailed on a bond of 30,000 rupees.
The CBI's main complaint against Niladri was that the SSC did not get back the hard copy of the OMR sheet after completion of the work. His lawyer Sanjay Dasgupta said, "We have shown from the CBI charge sheet that the SSC did not hand over the OMR sheet to my client. Work has been done with digital copy.
Sanjay Babu also said, 'According to the CBI documents, the correct information was sent to the SSC office. The number on the website has been distorted. There were also allegations of destruction of hard copies of OMR sheets. He didn't get that. The CBI has admitted in another charge sheet, that the OMR sheets were destroyed as per the rules given to an organization.
Investigators say at least 8,163 OMR sheets were tampered with in the SSC recruitment scam. And Niladri did this on the instructions of Shantiprasad. According to CBI sources, 3481 OMR sheets were tampered with for Group-C, 2823 for Group-D, 952 for recruitment of class IX-X and 907 for recruitment of class XI-XII.
It is learned that the former chairman of the School Service Commission, Subiresh Bhattacharya, used to recommend many candidates for jobs who could not clear the exam. The then Program Officer of SSC used to increase the marks of those failed candidates. The CBI claimed that just as the marks of the failed candidates in the SSC records were enhanced, as per Subiresh Bhattacharya, the marks of the candidates in the custody of the NYSA were also enhanced in the same way.
Arrested NISA chief Niladri Das has been linked to former SSC adviser SP Sinha, CBI officials claimed. Niladri was also in regular contact with other officials of the SSC, through Khabar investigators.
