WBSSC: After being stuck for nine years on the orders of the court, the recruitment of teachers in higher primary is finally opening.  14,052 people appeared for the second round of interviews of the School Service Commission for the recruitment of 14,339 posts.  The School Service Commission or SSC can publish the merit list and waiting list for the recruitment of upper primary level teachers in the state within a week.  But they cannot do any recruitment for now.

Regarding this, the Chairman of the School Service Commission, Siddharth Majumdar, said on Wednesday, "On Monday, the SSC panel was requested to be published in the division bench of Justice Soumen Sen.  The court granted that permission within 7 days.  The commission will review the panel and the waiting list soon.  This appointment will be under the supervision of the court.

The court on Wednesday directed the commission to publish the list of merit list and waiting list candidates within 7 days.  The case will be included for re-hearing in 15 days.

The division bench of Calcutta High Court Justice Soumen Justice Uday Kumar gave this order on Wednesday.  And even though the written test was held eight years ago for the recruitment of upper primary teachers in the state, candidates are still hoping for the job.

Even though the SSC interview was conducted on the orders of the court, question marks appeared again on the recruitment for the time being.  In fact, a group of job aspirants approached the court alleging lack of transparency in the recruitment process.  Their lawyer Firdous Shamim said that the answer sheet was re-evaluated after the interview.  This cannot be done.  Next hearing on August 31.

The School Service Commission on Monday mentioned the long-pending case regarding recruitment of upper primary before a division bench of Calcutta High Court Justice Soumen Sen.  The court fixed the hearing for Wednesday.  Calcutta High Court gave a big order there.
