WBSSC: The PTR list of 8207 schools with less than 0 to 50 students has been published by the School Education Department, now the question is what is the future of these schools? Recently, a guideline of the Education Department was circulated on social media. It is said that 8,207 primary and secondary schools in the state are going to be closed. Of these, 6,649 are primary schools. The rest are junior high and high schools. It is known that the state government is going to close all the schools in which the number of students is less than 30. Even the list of which schools are going to be closed in the district and block can be seen. Widespread practice started on social media about this. However, Education Minister Bratya Basu said at that time that no schools are being closed.
This time the school education department published the list of 8207 schools. The list of 8,000 schools (Primary School Closed) has been published, what is going to happen to the teachers and education workers working in those schools? According to some information, more than 25 thousand teachers and teaching staff are working in these schools. They will likely be transferred to nearby schools.
Questioning this, the general secretary of Shikkanuragi Oikya Manch Kingkar Adhikari said, "The number of students in 8000 schools is less than 50! Why lotus number of students? Meaning no more new recruitment stories! This time, only the teachers and education workers have done the work! Many positions are on the way to extinction?”
He further said, “We feel that the number of students in government schools is decreasing rapidly due to the wrong education policy of the state government. Parents are forced to withdraw their children from government schools due to lack of adequate infrastructure, poor infrastructure and teaching staff of primary and junior high schools, government policy of passing them on to the next class without learning anything. The government's neglect of the public education system as a whole is responsible for this situation. The government should make all-out efforts to protect schools and ensure that teaching staff posts are not abolished."
