On this day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, 'We give equal importance to all festivals. People of all communities get Durga Puja and Eid holidays here. Raghunath Murmu to Panchayat Varma's birthday is also a complete holiday. So far there was a 'Sectional Holiday' on Karam Puja and Sabebra. But in compliance with the long-standing demand, we have decided to give those two days full leave.
The Chief Minister also said, 'We observe everything. We think that Bengal is the meeting place of everything in Sarvadharma Sarvakarma. Bengali does not deprive anyone. But now if someone thinks that there is something or other for 365 days, we cannot give it. So when will the work be done? But if you work well, you can expect a good holiday.
At the same time, the Chief Minister said, "Those who are government employees can expect a holiday on a special day if they do good work. Maternity leave in our state is 731 days. There is also a month of paternity leave. We do as much as possible.”
Besides, Mamata mentioned that the maternity leave given to girls in this state is 731 days. Also one month paternity leave is given. The Chief Minister reminded, there are also many dates in the calendar, Puja, Eid, Dol, Chhat – Thirteen Parbans in twelve months in Bengal.
