WBSSC: The Supreme Court upheld the decision of Rajasthan High Court B.Ed.  (Bachelor of Education) degree holders are ineligible for the post of primary school teachers.  A bench of Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia opined that right to education needs to be guaranteed under Article 21A of the Constitution of India as well as the Right to Education Act, 2009.  The fundamental right to primary education includes not only 'free' and 'compulsory' education.  Also includes proper 'quality' education of children below 14 years of age.  According to the Supreme Court, B.Ed.  Degree holders have not acquired the basic educational qualification required to teach primary classes.  They will not provide 'quality' education to primary school children.

Although most of the BED job aspirants cannot accept this instruction at all.  They are demanding to bring an ordinance to the center in this regard.  A lot of claims are being made on Twitter about this.  Which is already trending.  Some are even tweeting that 5 crore BED students and their families will vote for the opposition if PRT does not bring an ordinance for BED.

Some say for what crime we crores of BED candidates are being punished so much.  Why are we guilty when the base of your gadget has been bed?  Bring the Ordinance Bill.  #WeNeedOrdianceForBed is already trending on Twitter.

The Supreme Court rejected the gazette notification of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) dated June 28, 2018, which also stated that one can apply for teaching jobs if one passes a BA course from an institution approved by NCTE.

50% marks in Higher Secondary and DLed courses are eligible for Primary TET.  But the NCTE notification says that those who have BED training can become teachers in primary (first to fifth class).  But within two years of getting a job, they have to do a bridge course of six months.  This notification was canceled by the Supreme Court.  However, the BED job aspirants have started a movement against it.
